About Los Angeles Gold Dealers

Who we are, and how we chose our three recommended dealers.

Who We Are

Los Angeles Gold Dealers is an independent buying guide, not a coin shop or a chain of storefronts. We don’t sell gold directly, and we don’t have a physical location in any of the 50 LA-area communities we cover. Instead, we research California’s tax rules and the national dealers LA-area buyers most often consider, and we compare three that we trust for a direct purchase or retirement rollover.

We’re not a licensed financial, legal, or tax advisory — nothing on this site is personalized advice. If you have questions specific to your own situation, talk to a licensed financial advisor or tax professional.

How We Chose Our Three Recommended Dealers

We don’t try to rank every dealer serving the Los Angeles market against each other — this site compares three vetted options, not an exhaustive list of every gold dealer that will ship to California. We evaluated dealers on BBB accreditation and complaint history, whether they publish a buyback or price-protection policy, how accessible their minimum purchase is, and whether they offer both a direct cash-purchase path and a gold IRA path.

Augusta Precious Metals, Goldco, and American Hartford Gold each cleared that bar, and each fits a different kind of buyer: Augusta for a guided, education-first process at a higher minimum; Goldco as the most established all-around choice with both a direct-purchase and IRA option; and American Hartford Gold for the lowest minimum of the three.

We’re compensated if you buy through one of our links to these three dealers — see our full Affiliate Disclosure for the details. That relationship doesn’t change the facts in our buying guide about California tax law, which are sourced from the state’s own published rules regardless of which dealer a reader chooses.
